Totally made up … there’s a good story about it. The short version is, it’s a bastardization of the word carabiner, wrought by my Scottish buddy Alex while practicing ice ax arrest on a mountainside.
Congrats on the name change, Tom! Love them both, btw -- but your new name certainly does paint a different picture. At least in my head...

I don't think you'll find the articles changing all that much--it just took me a while to figure out what to name what I'm doing.
