Good update, I will watch with interest on how the publishing of your novel unfolds. I know other authors are doing that as well. Good Luck!

As your mother, it gives me enormous pleasure to hear the reflection, to witness the joy you are getting from doing what you love, and to recognize personality traits in your characters of real humans we both know. It is rewarding to pass on your work to my friends and witness their pleasure and hear their compliments. Can’t wait for the book.

A really great read about a really great read! Looking forward to reading how it develops further!

LOVE the hair! I could do with chopping mine off right now. In our household we haven't had a proper haircut between us since the start of the pandemic - we've been doing each other's....

I understand what you mean about having two different strands going, and I would say whichever provides you the most fulfillment, to just run with it. If that means for months at a time you write the novel and then switch for a breather to an essay, then have at it. Recently (like as of a few days ago) I decided to focus on a single strand, which is the fiction. I've got so many stories I want to tell, and it provides a great deal of satisfaction. If I lose a few readers because they want more essays, then that's okay -- just like you said at the beginning, life is too short to ask them to read something they don't like. I'm really looking forward to watching (reading) your progress -- especially as a fellow who is also closely shaved on the noggin 😊

I'm glad to hear that you're doing exactly what you want to do. How often do get to say that? It's really cool. Also, my husband is bald, so I'm pro-bald men.
