You gotta start somewhere …

We all start with the world that’s right around us, so I start there, but who knows where that will take me.

This is my new substack page, a place where I’ll explore the influences that my community has on me. Sometimes it will be photo essays about my favorite places surrounding Snohomish, Washington; sometimes I’ll write about what I learn driving on racetracks in the area; and other times I’ll write about my wild imaginings, like what would happen if this friend who got me into birding was an operative of something bigger, weirder: a birding cult, a birding syndicate of sorts …

I hope that me writing about my locale will connect with you, open you up to seeing what’s around you, the interior and the exterior spaces.
